John McGowin is a wonderful husband, a father of three, and a great friend of many. He has been there for everyone whenever
he can, now its our chance to return the favor.
John and Cherilynn have been married for 17 years they have three kids Jarrett 18, Amanda 15, and Kelsey 10. His specialty
in work is his welding, and anyone he's worked for would tell you that he's a great worker and an honest man. Whenever he's
not hard at work you can find him with his daughters Amanda, and Kelsey practicing softball in the front yard, or spending
time with his son Jarrett enjoying movies and music. When John's family gets together they enjoy riding their ATV's and spending
time together.

This is John's diagnosis so far
He was diagnosed February 22, 2005 with a form of cancer called Adneocarcinoma with Mastases, which means it's lung cancer
which has spread to his lymph nodes, spine, and chest wall.
He has had 10 radiation treatments. His chemotherapy treatment
started wed 3/9/05 he will have these every 21 days for 3 sessions then we will know more there.
March 25th Update
He went to his radiation oncologist March 24th for just a check-up. The doctor seemed really positive. Before
he started his radiation treatments John could hardly sit down, walk, or lay down. The pain was too severe in his back.
Now he has ZERO pain in his back, and the doctor believes the tumors on his vertebrae responded great with treatment!
We are hoping for the same response from the chemotherapy for the other cancer and tumors.
Today we seen some of the effects from the chemotherapy. His hair started coming out. His nephews, Mason
7, and Tyler 10, come to the house and we had a hair cutting party. So it become a positive and a fun thing to see the
boys and their "Uncle Jay" get their heads shaved by Jemma.
